The inspiration for The Gathering Storm is, as always, the life I live. I'm not really an "observational" composer who writes about what is seen around me - instead I write from the heart and everything you hear on this album is inspired by emotional moments in my life. Some of the resulting music is positive, quite a bit is stormy, but through them all runs an inspiration formed from the forge of personal passions in my family life and my working life!

Since 10 years ago when I first started writing music under the name Purple Rhapsody the idea has been to evoke emotions without using words - I hope that The Gathering Storm does this for you in the best possible way, and brings you peace.
